One-to-one ground instruction

When valuable, a flight simulator is used as a classroom aid.
Lessons are conducted for either one learner, a maximum of two learners at a time, or for families of up to three members per session.

Modes of instruction:
– F2F, on-site
– F2F at Chuck’s home office, in DTLA, next to the Federal Reserve
– Video conference via zoom

  • Discovery flight preparation course

  • For PPL, IR, CPL, CFI, CFI-I, MEI, ATP Airplane:
  • FAA Written exam preparation
  • Oral portion of FAA Practical Tests: — preparation, mock evaluations
  • Flight review preparation – AC 61-98E
  • IPC preparation – AC 61-98E

    • Additionally:
  • Airplane model transitions — POH | limitations | systems | procedures
  • Avionics transitions — Navigators, instrument panels, Automation management.
    Steam gauges | Glass cockpit | Hybrid / RetroFit panel (simulator/ground hybrid lessons)

    • For instructor applicants:
  • CFI initial – FOI course and endorsement
  • CFI / CFI-I / MEI – lesson plans and checkride prep

Discovery Flight — preparation course

If you’re considering dipping your toes into aviation.

The course provides basic knowledge and understanding of the many things that will be going on in very short time.

  • Why take a sky tour – the adventure and the sights
  • Safety and reliability of General Avaition airplanes
  • What to expect
    • Controlling the aircraft
    • Knowing where you are and where you want to go
    • Talking on the radio
    • The air and airspace surrounding your airplane

The course includes:
  • 8 hrs of ground school on relevant topics.
  • Two hrs in a flight simulator.
